Mysore Maharaja Palace
Among all the sightseeing spots of our one day Bangalore to Mysore trip the most enjoyed stopover is the marvellous Maharaja Mysore Palace. An architectural masterpiece designed by the architect Henry Irwin in 1897 – 1912 reflects a perfect blend of Hindu, Muslim, Gothic and Rajput styles of architecture.
Marvel at the fabulous palace that features several beautiful halls like the Public darbar hall, Gombe Thotti, Private Darbar and Casket Room. The incredibly fascinating feature of the grandiose palace is the pinkish marble domes.
Jaganmohan Palace
Another fascinating palace visited with our one day Bangalore to Mysore trip is the Jaganmohan Palace. Wodeyar rulers had used the palace when the Mysore Palace was under construction after being buried into ashes.

On reaching halfway to the hills, near the 800th step visitors can witness the 4.9 m tall and 7.6m long statue of Nandi, the vehicle of vahana of Lord Shiva. A 350 years old statue was carved out of a single boulder during the period of Dodda Devaraja Wadiyar. One of the biggest idols of Nandi stands on a 4 feet high platform.
Statue of Mahishasura, the half human and half buffalo demon stands out with a cobra in one hand and a sword in the other hand. It is said that Mahishasura used to take different forms to cause harm to people and was killed by the Goddess Chamundeshwari.
With the Mahabaleshwara temple located on the hills, it is often referred to as Mahabaladri.
Mysore Zoo
